The 1st of February: YOU CAN BEGIN AGAIN

Folks, I hear it all the time. It sounds like this: "I'm too busy." "It's too late." "I have no time." "Where will I find the energy?" "My motivation is shot."

Excuses can be rational but also clever avoidance techniques. What's stopping you from starting?

What resolutions or goals or hopes did you have when turning the calendar to 2022? It's not too late. We're only a month in. You can begin again today: the first of February.

I've written about this before, but let me share this again. Perhaps you've heard of SMART goals:

Specific – target a specific area for improvement

Measurable – quantify an indicator of progress

Assignable – specify who, if anybody, am I waiting for to get it done

Realistic – state what results can realistically be achieved

Time-related – specify when the result(s) can be achieved

What would SMART living look like for you?

Physically, it could be weight loss, exercise, eating healthier or getting more sleep
Spiritually, you might begin to meditate daily, get back to worship or pick up an inspirational book
Mentally, consider mindfulness practice to help you create a cleaner space in your mind and heart
Emotionally, the first step might mean forgiving yourself, someone else
