I don't know how young I was when I heard The Carpenters croon out "Rainy Days and Mondays Always Bring Me Down." I have read of studies that seem to indicate that people who live in cloudy and rainy places on earth have a higher incidence of depression-- or worse.
I'm grateful to my sister, Felicia, who coached me once on a family vacation back in the early 2000s. We seven siblings and spouses and children and my father were at a beach house and the last two days were overcast, even threatening rain. My sister's response: "Never let the weather outside affect the weather inside."
So, if Monday as a day of the week has some crazy control over your heart or soul (or body!), don't let it. Ask yourself: what surprise...what amazing thing will I learn or read or hear or smell or eat today?
