Bliss is such a pleasant word. It is defined as “great joy; perfect happiness.” Some of my most blissful moments occur - are you ready! - when I'm working in the yard. It may sound crazy, but it's true. It’s a unique place where I feel perfect happiness, when I’m oblivious of everything else. Once in a while a pesky mosquito might annoy me, but mostly I can say with absolute truth that I'm in the moment. It might seem odd that digging, weeding, trimming, edging, sweating, feeling hot and sticky would be blissful, but it certainly does it for me. There is something special about yard work that releases negativity, worries and blame. Perhaps it's the dirt in my hands that allows me to become one with the earth.
